Our Beginning

The Black Seminole Project began as a belief and commitment to telling unknown stories of Black history, culture and contributions to the world. Glorified Griot Entertainment was then created in order to provide the foundation for films created under the aforementioned premise. The Black Seminole Project is the first project which consists of both a documentary as well as a full feature length film.

An American Story

Ghost in the Grass

A Historical Epic Set Against America’s Forgotten War

Based on a true story, Ghost in the Grass transports audiences to the lush wilderness of 1830s Florida, where a brutal conflict unfolds—one that has significantly influenced American history but remains largely unknown today. This film immerses viewers in the heart of the Second Seminole War, a seven-year struggle between the U.S. government and the fiercely independent Seminole tribe, along with their allies, the Black Seminoles.

Ghost in the Grass is not just a war epic; it offers a deep exploration of identity, resistance, and the true cost of freedom. By highlighting this overlooked chapter of American history, the film encourages viewers to reconsider their understanding of the nation's past and its implications for the present.
