The Black Seminole Project is dedicated to preserving, documenting, and sharing the history and culture of the Black Seminoles. Through historical research and oral histories, the project explores the Black Seminole experience from a regional perspective while highlighting the people, communities, and stories that have shaped this important history.
The project draws upon the research of Dr. Anthony E. Dixon, author of Florida’s Negro War, which examines the involvement and leadership of Black Seminoles during the Second Seminole War. Often overlooked in traditional historical accounts, the conflict included significant resistance by Black Seminoles and freedom seekers against enslavement and removal.
The Black Seminole Project seeks to bring greater awareness to this history while also documenting the experiences and legacy of Black Seminole communities today.

The premise of this company is to provide a voice to the voiceless by telling/examining little known facts, true stories, and current issues concerning Black people. This in turn will also enlighten the audience to cultural ties within the African Diaspora as well as cultural ties to other cultures around the world in ways that are both educational as well as entertaining.
